Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) 2025 Application Now Open!

The Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) program is a transformative academic and leadership initiative designed for motivated African secondary school students who aspire to pursue tertiary education and create meaningful change as leaders on the continent.

What is YYAS?

YYAS is an intensive program offering academic enrichment, university admissions guidance, career planning, and access to a thriving network of young African leaders. This unique initiative empowers participants with skills and connections to excel in higher education and beyond.

Summer 2025 Offerings

YYAS 2025 features two enriching programs tailored to meet the needs of African students:

  1. Online College Prep Workshop
    • A fully virtual experience focusing on university preparation, academic skill-building, and leadership.
  2. Residential Leadership Summit (Kenya)
    • An immersive, in-person leadership experience held on a host campus in Kenya.

Important Note: Students may only be admitted to one of these programs.

Program Highlights

  • Cost: Both programs are free of tuition fees.
  • Engagement: Participants will interact through online platforms like Zoom for seminars, lectures, and discussions.
  • Residential Program Details:
    • Conducted annually in a selected African country.
